Leading Through the Fog

We always have a choice...

On a recent trip to Switzerland, I stood in the Alps and never once saw the peaks. Fog and rain hid every postcard view.

It reminded me of something every loan officer faces: not every market gives you perfect visibility. Sometimes conditions are unclear. Rates shift. Pipelines stall. Recruiting slows. It can feel like the mountains are gone.

But they’re still there.

Your choice — like mine in Switzerland — is to either complain about the view or lean into gratitude and keep moving forward. Gratitude creates clarity. Gratitude creates momentum.

Reflection Question: In your business today, are you waiting for perfect conditions — or are you choosing gratitude and taking action in the fog?

Book Recommendation: The Happiness Advantage by Shawn Achor — a must-read for professionals who want to turn positivity into real results.
